The Better choices coalition is a broad, diverse, and growing group of Virginians committed to creating a Virginia where families can adequately provide for themselves and their children, where our elderly and infirm can get the support they need to contribute and live meaningful, productive and healthy lives, and where business can thrive.
Our Virginia has an educated workforce, one ready, willing, and able to take on any challenge. Our Virginia has safe streets patrolled by well-trained police and sheriffs that are given the tools they need to keep our families and businesses safe and secure. Our Virginia has good roads, maintained not just because they’re the arteries of our economy, but because they represent an investment our forefathers made in us. Finally, our Virginia has leaders willing to make tough choices based on the needs of the state, not what is popular or what special interests want to hear.
That’s why, now that we know we’re going to be facing budget shortfalls of hundreds of millions of dollars, we are standing up and telling our leaders that we want them to adopt a balanced approach to our budget problems – one that includes new revenues – so that we can support working families and grow our economy.
